Biography

Farewell Continental, an American rock band from Minneapolis, Minnesota, began their career in 2007 and formed their current lineup in 2008. The group originated as a side project of Motion City Soundtrack frontman Justin Pierre and guitarist Thomas Rehbein. In early 2008, the lineup expanded to include Kari Gray, Jim Adolphson, and Josh McKay. The band released their debut EP Farewell Continental in 2009, followed by a second EP titled EP #2 in 2010. Their full-length album ¡Hey, Hey Pioneers! was released in 2011 through Paper + Plastick Records. Farewell Continental embarked on several tours, including a short tour with The Jealous Sound in February 2011 and a full US tour with Gold Motel in the summer of that year. After the death of producer Ed Ackerson in 2019, Justin Pierre expressed that the band was finished, although he mentioned interest in releasing unfinished material recorded with Joshua Cain.
