Biography

Falta y Resto was a carnival group (murga) from Uruguay, formed in June 1980 in Montevideo's Capurro neighborhood. Known for their innovative approach in the murga category, they released their first album, Falta y resto, in 1981. The group gained significant recognition with albums like Canto de barrio en barrio (1982) and Murga LA... (1983), earning two consecutive first prizes at the carnival contests in 1988 and 1989. Notable songs included "El couplet de la gente" and "Pepe Revolución". They collaborated with prominent artists such as Bersuit Vergarabat, Jaime Roos, and La Vela Puerca. Falta y Resto also represented the Uruguayan Carnival at international events, including the Convención de la Federación de ciudades Carnavalescas Europeas in Curaçao.
