Biography
Falkenbach is a German Viking and pagan metal project founded by Markus 'Vratyas Vakyas' Tümmers in 1989 in Düsseldorf. The project initially focused on folkloric music before evolving into a metal sound, beginning with the demo Havamal (1989), which did not yet bear the Falkenbach name. The project's first official cassette, Laeknishendr (1995), was recorded at Ãingvellir National Park in Iceland. Tümmers signed with No Colours Records and released the debut studio album, ...En their medh riki fara..., in 1996. Subsequent studio albums include ...Magni blandinn ok megintiri... (1998), Ok nefna tysvar ty (2003), Heralding â The Fireblade, released on November 25, 2005, and Tiurida, released on January 28, 2011. In August 2011, Tümmers signed with Prophecy Productions, which led to the release of the single âEwerounâ on April 26, 2013, and the album Asa on November 1, 2013.
