Biography
Fahir AtakoÄlu is a Turkish American pianist and composer born in Turkey in 1963. AtakoÄlu studied under Cemal ReÅit Rey between 1977 and 1979 and attended the Istanbul State Conservatory. They performed as a jingle composer for advertising agencies including Saatchi & Saatchi and Ogilvy & Mather. AtakoÄlu composed music for musicians including Sezen Aksu and Sertab Erener. Their recording âTelos Dihos Telosâ (2003) for Notis Sfakianakis reached 4x platinum status in Greece. Their discography includes ten albums, such as If (2005) and Istanbul in Blue (2008). AtakoÄlu composed the soundtracks for the dramas Omar and Magnificent Century. Their album For Love (2020) was submitted for consideration in seven categories at the 63rd Grammy Awards.
