Biography

Fadel Abr ar-Rahman Shamander, known professionally as Fadel Shaker, was born on April 1, 1969, in Lebanon. Raised in the Ain al-Hilweh refugee camp near Sidon, Shaker began his career in 1997 with Al Khouyoul Records. His debut album Wallah Zaman (1998) featured hits like "Meta Habeby Meta" and "Ya Tkon Habeby". Subsequent albums included Baya'a El Qolob (1999), which topped the charts with its title track, and El Hob El Adem (2000). In 2002, Shaker released his first duet with Nawal, "Hobbak Khayal", which held Number 1 for five months. He later signed with Rotana Records in 2003, releasing hits like "Ya Ghayeb" and performing at major festivals worldwide. His career took a dramatic turn in 2012 when he announced his retirement from music, citing religious reasons.
