Ester Drang, an experimental post-rock musical group from Broken Arrow, Oklahoma, was formed in 1995 by guitarist Bryce Chambers. The initial lineup included drummer James McAlister and bass player Kyle Winner. Their first full-length LP, Goldenwest, was released in 2001 on Burnt Toast Vinyl. Following the departure of several members, including Sterling Williams, Brian Brewer, and David Motter, Jeff Shoop joined on guitar, and Kyle left, leading to a bassless lineup that signed with Jade Tree Records. The band's discography includes notable albums such as That is When He Turns Us Golden (1999), Infinite Keys (2003), and Rocinate (2006). Ester Drang reformed in 2012, playing festivals like Free Tulsa and Norman Music Festival. They toured with notable acts including Echo & the Bunnymen, and released EPs titled The Union in 2017 and The Appearances in 2018.
