Esplendor Geométrico, a Spanish industrial band formed in 1980 by Arturo Lanz, Gabriel Riaza, and Juan Carlos Sastre, emerged from the techno-pop group El Aviador Dro y sus Obreros Especializados. Their early work was influenced by Kraftwerk, DAF, Neu!, and Can. The band's first single, "Necrosis en la Poya", was released in 1981 on the Tic Tac label, followed by their debut LP Héroe del Trabajo / El Acero del Partido in 1982. In 1985, they released their second LP, Comisario de la Luz / Blanco de Fuerza, on their own label, Esplendor Geométrico Discos. Notable releases include Diez años de esplendor (1991) and Polyglophone (1997). The band played at the first Sónar festival in Barcelona in 1994 alongside acts such as The Orb.
