Biography
Erase Errata was an American indie rock band formed in Oakland, California, in 1999. The group quickly gained national attention after releasing their first single, Erase Errata (2000), and touring with acts like Le Tigre and Melt-Banana. Their debut album, Other Animals, was released in 2001 on Troubleman Unlimited. Following the departure of guitarist Sara Jaffe in 2004, Jenny Hoyston took over guitar duties, and the band briefly added a new vocalist, Archie McKay. The group eventually settled into a three-piece lineup with Hoyston handling both guitar and vocals for their 2006 album, Night Life, which was praised for its political punk sound. Their album, Lost Weekend, was released in 2015 on Under the Sun Records. Erase Errata disbanded amicably after two farewell shows in Austin, Texas, in October 2015.
