Eric Kloss, born on April 3, 1949 in Greenville, Pennsylvania, is an American jazz saxophonist. Born blind, he attended Western Pennsylvania School for Blind Children and began playing the saxophone at age ten. By 12, he was performing with professional musicians such as Bobby Negri and Sonny Stitt. Kloss released his debut album Introducing Eric Kloss in 1965, followed by Love and All That Jazz in 1966. Throughout the late 1960s and early 1970s, he collaborated with notable musicians including Chick Corea and Dave Holland, and released albums such as Grits & Gravy (1967), Life Force (1968), and Consciousness! (1970). In the 1980s, Kloss taught at Rutgers University, Duquesne University, and Carnegie Mellon. He also performed on the television show Mister Rogers' Neighborhood eight times between 1971 and 1996. Due to health problems, Kloss performed and recorded rarely after the 1980s.
