Emociones Clandestinas is a Chilean rock band formed in Concepción in 1985. They gained prominence with their debut album Abajo en la costanera (1987). The album blended British pop and rock influences with reflections on urban life in Chile, featuring the charismatic vocals of Jorge Alvarado. They released the single "No me puedo acostumbrar / Cajitas rectangulares" (1987), and the standout track "Un nuevo baile" became one of the most popular songs in Chile during the late 1980s and achieved widespread recognition. They disbanded in 1989 but reunited in 2001, participating in notable events such as La Cumbre del Rock Chileno in 2007. In 2012, part of the original lineup reconvened for a series of concerts celebrating the 25th anniversary of their debut album.
