Biography

Emma Ruth Rundle, born on October 10, 1983, in Los Angeles, is an American singer-songwriter and guitarist. She grew up surrounded by music, learning to play the Celtic harp and guitar at McCabe’s Guitar Shop. In 2007, she formed The Nocturnes in New Zealand, releasing their debut EP Wellington in 2008. Upon returning to Los Angeles, the band evolved into a quartet and released critically acclaimed albums such as Aokigahara (2011). Concurrently, Rundle was part of Red Sparowes, contributing to their instrumental album The Fear Is Excruciating, but Therein Lies the Answer (2010). In 2011, she founded Marriages with former members of Red Sparowes. Rundle's solo career began with Electric Guitar One (2011), followed by Some Heavy Ocean (2014) and On Dark Horses (2018). Her work blends folk, ambient, and post-rock elements.
