Biography

Elvis Phương, born Phạm Ngọc Phương on February 1, 1945, in Thủ Dầu Một, was a Vietnamese singer who spent his youth in Saigon. He became a popular performer in South Vietnam before the fall of Saigon in 1975, which led to his departure from the country. In the 1990s, Elvis Phương began returning to Vietnam regularly and regained popularity as a singer. His notable albums include Niệm Khúc Cuối (1984), Đêm Say (1995), and Em Cứ Đi (1995). Some controversy arose within Vietnamese refugee communities overseas, who were initially critical of his decision to perform in Vietnam.
