Elvis Phương, born Phạm Ngá»c Phương on February 1, 1945, in Thá»§ Dầu Má»t, was a Vietnamese singer who spent his youth in Saigon. He became a popular performer in South Vietnam before the fall of Saigon in 1975, which led to his departure from the country. In the 1990s, Elvis Phương began returning to Vietnam regularly and regained popularity as a singer. His notable albums include Niá»m Khúc Cuá»i (1984), Äêm Say (1995), and Em Cứ Äi (1995). Some controversy arose within Vietnamese refugee communities overseas, who were initially critical of his decision to perform in Vietnam.
