Electrafixion was formed in 1994 in the United Kingdom by former Echo & the Bunnymen members Ian McCulloch (vocals, guitar) and Will Sergeant (guitar), joined by bassist Leon de Sylva and drummer Tony McGuigan; the group emerged from the postâBunnymen era, drawing on alternative rock influences. Their initial breakthrough came with the Zephyr EP released in 1994, which entered the UK Singles Chart at Number 47, followed by the single "Lowdown" in 1995, peaking at Number 54. In September 1995 the band released their sole album, Burned, on WEA/Warners, reaching Number 38 on the UK Albums Chart for two weeks; the album was later issued as a 2âCD extended version in 2007. Subsequent singles "Never" (Number 58) and "Sister Pain" (Number 27) were issued in 1995 and 1996 respectively, while the limitedâedition single "Baseball Bill" appeared in 1997. The band disbanded in 1996 when Echo & the Bunnymen reformed.
