Ismael Serrano Morón, born 9â¯Marchâ¯1974 in Madrid, Spain, is a singerâsongwriter whose career began in local Madrid venues while studying physical sciences. His breakthrough came in 1997 with the album Atrapados en azul, featuring the single "Papá cuéntame otra vez", which earned a platinum certification in Spain and gold in Argentina. In 1998 he released La memoria de los peces, again reaching platinum status, and in 2000 followed with Los paraÃsos desiertos, a work that incorporated jazz influences and secured another platinum award; the track "Km.â¯0" earned a nomination for the Goya Award for Best Original Song. The 2002 album La traición de Wendy produced two gold discs and topped Spanish sales charts, prompting tours across Spain and Latin America.
