Biography

Ismael Serrano Morón, born 9 March 1974 in Madrid, Spain, is a singer‑songwriter whose career began in local Madrid venues while studying physical sciences. His breakthrough came in 1997 with the album Atrapados en azul, featuring the single "Papá cuéntame otra vez", which earned a platinum certification in Spain and gold in Argentina. In 1998 he released La memoria de los peces, again reaching platinum status, and in 2000 followed with Los paraísos desiertos, a work that incorporated jazz influences and secured another platinum award; the track "Km. 0" earned a nomination for the Goya Award for Best Original Song. The 2002 album La traición de Wendy produced two gold discs and topped Spanish sales charts, prompting tours across Spain and Latin America. In 2003 he released the live double album Principio de incertidumbre, recorded at Teatro Lope de Vega, and in 2005 issued Naves ardiendo más allá de Orión, which included the socially conscious "Fragilidad". Subsequent releases-El viaje de Rosetta (2006), Sueños de un hombre despierto (2007), Un lugar soñado (2008), Acuérdate de vivir (2010), Todo empieza y todo acaba en ti (2012), La llamada (2014), La respuesta (2016), 20 años. Hoy es siempre (2017), and Todavía (2018)-expanded his discography and maintained consistent chart presence. His work has been noted for its lyrical depth and engagement with political and social themes, earning him recognition within Spanish and Latin‑American music circles.
