Makala, whose real name is Jordy Makala Mrapula, is a Swiss rapper of Congolese origin born on March 7, 1993 in Bienne, in the canton of Berne. Active since the 2010s, his energetic, singular style stands out as a member of the XTRM Boyz collective, alongside Slimka and Di-Meh. He marked a turning point in his career by joining Colors Records, a key label on the Swiss music scene. In 2016, he made his mark with the collaborative mixtape Full Metal. Two years later came his debut album Radio Suicide (2018), featuring collaborations with Varnish La Piscine, Slimka, Ike Ortiz and Rico TK. Makala's audience on platforms grows with the release of singles such as "Toys R Us" and "Hitman Go" (2020), followed by the album Chaos Kiss, featuring the viral track "Al Dente". Other tracks follow, including "Boss" (2022), "Ensemble baby" (2023) and "Hotel Yotsuya" (2025), the first single from Yamoto's third album, released in 2026 and ranked No. 94 on the French SNEP chart.
