Egschiglen is a Mongolian folk band formed in Ulaanbaatar in 1991, whose name translates to "Beautiful Melody" in English. The group is notable for achieving international recognition while focusing on contemporary music that explores the sound dimensions of classical-modernist Mongolian composers. Their repertoire includes traditional instruments such as the morin khuur and tobshuur, along with the singing technique khöömii throat singing. Egschiglen's discography features albums like Gobi (1997), Zazal (2000), and Gereg (2007). The band has collaborated with musicians from various cultural areas and incorporated traditional song material from the Altmühl valley into their music.
