Biography

Duncan Chisholm, born on October 31, 1968, in Inverness, Scotland, is Scottish fiddle player, composer, and founding member of the band Wolfstone. In 1997, he released his debut solo album Redpoint, followed by notable releases like The Door of Saints (2001), Farrar (2008), and Affric (2012). The latter was notably longlisted for the Scottish Album of the Year Award. Chisholm has also made guest appearances on various artists' releases such as Across the City and the World (2002) by Donnie Munro and Uam (From Me) (2009) by Julie Fowlis. His work has earned him several accolades, including the MG Alba Scots Trad Music Awards for Album of the Year in 2008 for Farrar, and the Scots Trad Music Awards for Album of the Year in 2014 for Live at Celtic Connections (2013) and in 2018 for Sandwood (2018).
