Biography

Argentinian-American rapper Jonathan Edgar Park, known as Dumbfoundead, was born in Buenos Aires, Argentina, on February 18, 1986, moving with his family to the United States of America when he was three, settling in Los Angeles' Koreatown. Dumbfoundead began his journey into rap at fourteen, inspired by the local rap scene at Project Blowed, dropping out of school during his sophomore year. Releasing his debut EP Fun With Dumb in 2008, he honed his skills over the next three years before the release of solo album, DFD (2011) which debuted at number 41 on the US R&B / Hip Hop charts, followed by Take the Stares (2012) and Old Boy Jon (2013). Collaborating with artists like Epik High, Traphik, Wax, Jay Park, and more, he gained notable recognition for participating in the remix of Keith Ape's "It G Ma" in 2015. After unveiling fourth album, We Might Die in 2016, Dumbfoundead was cast in the 2016 documentary Bad Rap, which explored the journeys of four East Asian American musicians striving to succeed in the hip-hop scene, as well as the Starz drama series Power. In 2017, he co-wrote "Spirit Animal" and "Arrived" for Jessi's EP Un2verse, continuing to release solo work with third EP Rocket Man in December 2017 which charted at number 87 on the Korean charts, followed by Café Bleu in 2018. After a short hiatus from music, he returned in 2021, with the single “Rent Free” with Jeff Bernat.
