Jyotsna Srikanth, an Indian-British violinist and composer, was born into a musical family in Bangalore, India. Her mother, Ratna Srikantaiah, began training her in Carnatic vocals at age five. At six, Jyotsna Srikanth attended a performance by Kunnakudi Vaidyanathan, sparking her interest in the violin. She started training under R. R. Keshavamurthy and gave her first solo concert at nine. Recognizing the importance of Western classical training, she studied at the Bangalore School of Music. Jyotsna Srikanth's career began in the film industry, playing for over two hundred south Indian films. After moving to London following her marriage, she expanded her repertoire to include music scores for documentaries and performances at global events such as WOMAD and the BBC Proms. She released several albums, including Insight (2008), Alaipayudhe (2010), and Carnatic Lounge (2011). In 2008, she received a Fellowship in Carnatic Music from Trinity College of Music, London.
