Biography

Dan Matrazzo, born on February 13, 1959 in Shinjuku-ku, Tokyo, Japan, is an American keyboardist and pianist. He began playing piano at age three in 1962 and performed classical recitals while growing up in Tokyo. His professional journey started in 1975 as a teenager playing sold-out arenas with Japanese guitarist Char. In 1981, Matrazzo recorded on the album Cloudland/Pink Cloud. He toured extensively with Clarence "Gatemouth" Brown, contributing to the album Timeless, which was nominated for a Grammy Award. Matrazzo collaborated with notable artists such as James Cotton, Taj Mahal, and John Scofield. In 2000, he released his solo album Dan on the Moon.
