Biography

Estradasphere was an experimental band from Santa Cruz, California, active from 1998 to 2008. The band's core members were Tim Smolens on bass, Timb Harris on violin, and Jason Schimmel on guitar. Their debut album, It's Understood, was released in 2000. Estradasphere had an eclectic musical style, drawing inspiration from jazz, funk, techno, classical, pop, metal, New Age, and world music. Their second album, Buck Fever, was released in 2001 and received critical acclaim but did not achieve significant commercial success. They subsequently released Quadropus (2003), Passion for Life (2004), and Palace of Mirrors (2006).
