Alakrán was a heavy metal band from Argentina, founded in 1985 by Gady Pampillón on guitar, Mario Curcio on vocals, and Marcelo B.B. Peña on drums. The band's lineup underwent changes, with Mario Ian taking over as vocalist after the departure of Pampillón. Alakrán gained prominence in the Argentine heavy metal scene during the late 1980s. Their debut album Vagabundear, released in 1989, featured notable tracks such as "Vagabundear" and "Siempre que pienso en vos". The band performed at significant events, including as an opening act for Bon Jovi in February 1990. In 1991, they released their second album Otra vez en las calles. Despite these releases, Alakrán disbanded in 1993. The band briefly reunited in 1997 for a compilation album and returned to perform live in 2010, culminating in the release of their first live DVD Veneno Vivo: El Regreso in 2012.
