Biography

Donna The Buffalo, an American band from Trumansburg, New York, formed in 1989. Initially known as "Dawn of the Buffalo," the name was later misheard and changed to Donna The Buffalo. The group began their career with self-released tapes such as The White Tape (1989) and The Red Tape (1991). Their first official album, Donna The Buffalo, was released in 1993. Over the years, they have released numerous albums including Rockin' In The Weary Land (1998), Positive Friction (2000), and Life's a Ride (2005). Notable collaborations include performances with Jim Lauderdale and Bela Fleck of Bela Fleck and the Flecktones. Donna The Buffalo is one of the founding bands of the annual Finger Lakes GrassRoots Festival of Music and Dance.
