Donna Giles, born on 12 March 1972 in Chicago, Illinois, is an American singer whose work has largely contributed to the electronic and house music scenes. Early in her career she honed her vocal abilities through local gospel and soul ensembles, eventually drawing attention from underground club DJs. Her breakthrough came in the early 1990s with the release of the single "Feel the Beat," which gained traction on Chicagoâs club circuit and attracted the attention of independent house labels. In 1994, she issued the And Iâm Telling You (Iâm Not Going) compilation, featuring a blend of club-friendly tracks and soulful ballads; the title track reached the Top 20 on the U.S. Billboard Dance Club Songs chart that year. Subsequent releases included the Midnight Pulse EP (1996) and the Urban Echoes single (1998), both of which saw moderate chart success in the U.S. and Canada. Donna Giles collaborated with prominent house producers such as DJâ¯Eclipse and MCâ¯Sonic, and performed on tours across North America and Europe, supporting acts like Deepâ¯House Collective.
