EmÃlio Camilo da Costa, known professionally as Don Kikas, born 5 January 1974 in Sumbe, Angola, is an Angolan singer who began performing in local nightclubs in Portugal at age 18. His debut album Sexy Baby was released in 1995 after an invitation to record in 1994, followed by Pura Sedução in 1997, which earned silver status in Portugal and the Music of the Year award from Rádio Nacional de Angola for the track "Esperança Moribunda". In December 1999 he released Xeque Mate, achieving gold sales and receiving Angola's Album of the Year, Voice of the Year, and Kizomba of the Year awards. Subsequent releases included Raio X (2003) and the doubleâalbum Viagem (2006), featuring collaborations with Bonga, Tito Paris, and Johnny Ramos, solidifying his status as a prominent Angolan kizomba artist.
