Biography

Joshua Kierkegaard G. Steele, born 15 January 1989 in Towcester, Northamptonshire, is a British DJ and producer who emerged on the electronic music scene as Flux Pavilion. Growing up in the Midlands, Steele developed an early interest in bass‑heavy sounds and began producing tracks in his teens. "I Can't Stop" single was released in 2010. His breakthrough came with the 2011 single "Bass Cannon", which garnered attention from the dubstep community and led to further releases such as "Superbad" and "Do Or Die" in 2011 and 2013 respectively. In 2013, Flux Pavilion released the studio album Blow The Roof on 25 January, followed by the Freeway EP on 8 November, the latter featuring collaborations with artists like Steve Aoki and Dillon Francis. The 2015 single "International Anthem" foreshadowed the album Tesla, released on 18 September 2015, which expanded his sound beyond traditional dubstep. Subsequent singles, including "Surrender" (2019) and "Emotional" (2023), continued to showcase his evolving style. Throughout his career, Flux Pavilion has toured extensively, signed with the independent label Circus, co‑founded with Doctor P, DJ Swan‑E, and Earl Falconer, and maintained a presence on international club circuits. His tracks have featured in video games such as SSX and Need for Speed: Most Wanted, cementing his influence within electronic music culture.
