Dobet Valérie Gnahoré, born on June 17, 1982 in Ivory Coast, is a singer and musician. Raised by her grandmother in Kragbalilié after being abandoned by her mother at birth, she joined her father Boni Gnahoré in Abidjan at age six. She left school at twelve to join his artistic company, learning theatre, dance, music, and singing. In 1996, she met French guitarist Colin Laroche de Féline, with whom she formed the duo Ano Neko in 1999. Their debut album Ano Neko was released in 2004. Gnahoré's subsequent albums include Na Afriki (2007), Djekpa La You (2010), and Miziki (2018). In 2010, she won a Grammy Award for "Pearls", a duet with India Arie. Gnahoré's music spans multiple languages and genres, reflecting her diverse cultural heritage. She has also collaborated with artists like Yabongo Lova on the single "Lève-toi" (2022).
