Paul Edward Blair, known professionally as DJ White Shadow, was born on September 20, 1978, in Youngstown, Ohio. He began his DJ career while attending college in Takamatsu, Japan, and later gained prominence in the Detroit techno scene. Blair met Lady Gaga during a show in Los Angeles and co-wrote and produced nine songs on her album Born This Way (2011), including the title track "Born This Way" (2011), which reached Number 1 on various charts. Following this, he toured with Lady Gaga for two years and collaborated with her on Artpop (2013), co-writing hit singles like "Applause" (2013) and "Do What U Want" (2013). Blair won a Grammy Award in 2020 for his work on the soundtrack for the film A Star Is Born (2018).
