Biography
Jon Cutler (born 1969 in Brooklyn, Newâ¯York, Unitedâ¯States) is an American house DJ who began performing at age 15 and later studied photography at the School of Visual Arts before returning to music fullâtime. He launched his own Distant Music label in 1997, issuing 12âinch remixes that established his presence in the house scene. In 2001 he produced "It's Yours" featuring EâMan for Chez Music, which reached Numberâ¯38 on the UK Singles Chart, and the track was later sampled by Mat Zo in 2012. Cutlerâs debut studio album, Watcha Gonna Do, was released on 18â¯Julyâ¯2005, followed by It's Yours on 11â¯Julyâ¯2008, and the compilation Distant Music, Vol.â¯1 â A Compilation Of Past & Present on 8â¯Juneâ¯2010. His work appeared on the 2004 compilation Afterdark: Newâ¯York City, which peaked at numberâ¯23 on the U.S. Billboard Top Electronic Albums chart, underscoring his continued influence in the electronic music landscape.
