Biography
DJ Magic Mike, born Michael Hampton on May 9, 1966, in Orlando, Florida, is an American record producer and disc jockey known for his contributions to Miami bass music. His career began in 1986 when he met producer Rod Whitehead of the Prime Time Crew, leading to the creation of a demo version of "Drop the Bass". He later joined Clay D's production team and returned to Orlando to work with Cheetah Records. In 1989, DJ Magic Mike released his debut album DJ Magic Mike and the Royal Posse, which sold over one million copies. His subsequent albums include Bass is the Name of the Game (1990) and Ain't No Doubt About It (1991). In 2000, he released Magic's Kingdom, followed by Beyond the Magic (2012).
