Biography

Originally from Senegal, singer Dieyla Gueye grew up surrounded by Senegalese music, and began performing at local events as a teenager. It was at the Sén Petit Galé springboard, a major singing competition organized by the Prince Arts label and bringing together up-and-coming Senegalese music talent every year, that she became aware of her potential, in 2014, when she reached the semi-final stage. She then set about developing her universe, influenced by a varied fusion of styles such as jazz, mbalakh, afrobeat, soul, R&B and gospel. Everything accelerated in 2018 when she really revealed herself to the Senegalese public thanks to her cover of the track "Sama Damel " by Cherifou and Job Sa Brain, which collected views on social networks. Her captivating voice quickly gained her an audience and the nickname "Linguère", a title of nobility formerly reserved for princesses and queens in Serer culture. Over the years, she has collaborated with many renowned Senegalese artists, including Tonton Salif, Maalem Abdallah Guiné and Maalem Abdellah El Gourd. Her hits include "Waref " in 2020, "Mangui Baxx" in 2021, "Diayoulén " in 2022 and "Li lanla " in 2023.
