Die Drogen was a German indie-pop band formed in Munich in 2008 by members of the alternative rock band Sugarcaine. From 2008 to 2009, they released several self-produced singles online, gaining attention in the indie scene. In 2010, Die Drogen won an MTV video contest and released their debut album Jetzt im Handel!, produced by Uwe Hoffmann. The band's singer Hari Bauhofer gained media attention after a staged collapse on live television during an appearance on ZDF-Morgenmagazin in 2011. Die Drogen disbanded in 2012 following the departure of two members and failed reunification attempts.
