Biography

Born in Grasse (Alpes-Maritimes, France) on December 14, 1959, Didier Sustrac drew on his travels in South America to create the songs featured on his 1993 album Zanzibar, including the hit "Tout seul". His bossa nova-tinged style, richly accompanied by woodwinds and reeds, continued on the album Blues Indigo (1995), featuring a composition by Brazilian musician Márcio Faraco, and the duet "À quoi ça sert " with Chico Buarque in 1997. After the 3rd album Chanteur d'Ascenseur (2000), Didier Sustrac blends his voice with that of Claude Nougaro on the track "Cogne", on the following Matière Première (2003). Three years later, Je Chante Un Air was released on his own ZinZin Production label, followed by the children's collection Au Pays des Papas (2009). In 2017, the author and composer surrounded himself with several musicians and singers, including Camila Costa, David Linx, Pierre Barouh and Philippe Baden Powell on Ostende Bossa, followed by Marcher Derrière (2021), with contributions from Princess Erika and Marianne James. In 2022, the compilation My French Bossa (Best Of) and an album interpreted in Brazilian with Roberto Di Ferdinando, Bossa Saravá, follow.
