Biography

Diablo Swing Orchestra is a Swedish avant-garde metal band formed in 2003. The original lineup included Lisa Hansson on vocals, Daniel Håkansson and Pontus Mantefors on guitars, Anders "Andy" Johansson on bass, Johannes Bergion on cello, and Andreas Halvardsson on drums. Their first EP, Borderline Hymns (2003), was released before Hansson's departure in 2005. Following the addition of AnnLouice Lögdlund as vocalist, they released the debut album, The Butcher's Ballroom (2006). They gained attention for an eclectic sound blending swing music with symphonic metal and progressive rock. Notable songs from this period include "Heroines" and "Balrog Boogie". In 2009, they released Sing Along Songs for the Damned & Delirious, featuring the track "A Tap Dancer's Dilemma", which was nominated for a Metal/Hardcore award at The 10th Annual Independent Music Awards. Later albums include Pandora's Piñata (2012), Pacifisticuffs (2017), and Swagger & Stroll Down the Rabbit Hole (2021).
