Biography

Born in Corpus Christi, Texas, on August 10, 1972, blues singer and guitarist Devon Allman is the son of Gregg Allman (1947-2017), co-founding member of the famous The Allman Brothers Band. Although he is heir to an iconic Southern rock name, Devon Allman has forged his own musical identity, blending blues, rock, soul and occasional touches of funk. He began his career in the 1990s with various bands, before founding Honeytribe in 1999, then joining the supergroup Royal Southern Brotherhood in 2011, alongside Cyril Neville. As a solo artist, he released several critically acclaimed albums, starting with Turquoise (2013), then Ragged & Dirty (2014) and Ride or Die (2016), showcasing his warm voice and expressive guitar playing. In 2018, he and Duane Betts, son of his father's former partner Dickey Betts (1943-2024), formed The Allman Betts Band, also featuring Berry Oakley Jr., Johnny Stachela and John Ginty. This group recorded the albums Down to the River (2019) and Bless Your Heart (2020), before Devon Allman collaborated with Donavon Frankenreiter on the EP Rollers (2023) and the solo album Miami Moon (2024). In 2025, he reunited Sierra Green, Larry McCray and Jimmy Hall in the studio for the joint album The Blues Summit, which also featured contributions from Christone "Kingfish" Ingram and Robert Randolph.
