Biography
Derdian, a power metal band with symphonic elements, was founded in 1998 in Milan, Italy by Henry Pistolese and Marco Covelli. Initially a thrash metal project, the group evolved into a power metal act. Derdian released their first demo, Revenge, in 2001, which garnered critical acclaim in Italy. The band's lineup underwent several changes before stabilizing with Ivan Giannini on vocals, Henry Pistolese on guitar and vocals, Marco Banfi on bass, Dario Radaelli on guitar, and Salvatore Giordano on drums. Derdian signed with SteelHeart Records and released their debut album New Era, Part 1, in 2005 which sold well internationally. The band continued to release albums including New Era, Part 2: War of the Gods (2007), New Era, Part 3: The Apocalypse (2010) and Revolution Era (2016). In 2018, the band released DNA, followed by Black Typhoon in 2018.
