Biography
Denzel Rae Don Curry, born February 16, 1995, in Miami Gardens, Florida, began rapping while still in middle school and first attracted attention through a series of mixtapes, including 2011's King Remembered Underground Tape 1991â1995. His early work led to his involvement with SpaceGhostPurrp's influential Raider Klan collective, which he left in 2013 before releasing his debut studio album, Nostalgic 64, at the age of 18. Curry continued refining his aggressive, highly technical style on the double EP 32 Zel/Planet Shrooms (2015), which included the breakthrough track "Ultimate", followed by Imperial (2016) and the EP 13 (2017). His third album, Ta13oo (2018), reached number 28 on the Billboard 200 and produced "Clout Cobain", while the Miami-focused Zuu followed in 2019 and peaked at number 32. Curry teamed with producer Kenny Beats for the collaborative project Unlocked in 2020 before broadening his sound with Melt My Eyez See Your Future in 2022. Led by "Walkin", the album incorporated jazz, soul, R&B and drum & bass influences and eventually reached number 17 on the Billboard 200 following its physical release. In 2024, he returned to his Southern rap roots with the mixtape King of the Mischievous South Vol. 2, featuring A$AP Rocky, A$AP Ferg, Juicy J, 2 Chainz, Maxo Kream and others; an expanded album edition, King of the Mischievous South, followed later that year. Curry supported the project with the Mischievous South World Tour in 2025. In 2026, he formed the hip-hop collective The Scythe with A$AP Ferg, TiaCorine, Bktherula and Key Nyata and released their collaborative album Strictly 4 the Scythe, led by "Lit Effect". He then reunited with Kenny Beats, now working as Kenneth Blume III, for II, a sequel to Unlocked featuring JPEGMAFIA, Westside Gunn and Yebba and released on August 21, 2026.
