Biography

Denda Mao, born 傳田真央 on March 29, 1980, in Nagano, Japan, is a Japanese singer known for her contributions to J-pop and pop music. She began her career in 2000 with the release of her debut single "耳もとにいるよ… 〜Ring the bells〜", which peaked at number 29 on the Oricon Charts and remained in the charts for ten weeks. Her first studio album, Eternal Voice, followed later that year, reaching number 31 on the charts and staying there for eight weeks. In 2001, Denda Mao decided to take a hiatus from the music industry but continued working with other artists such as Ai. She returned in 2006 under the pseudonym MAO/d, releasing the single "Very Love -0.5℃". After another brief hiatus, she resumed her career using her real name in 2009, releasing her second studio album I AM. Throughout her career, Denda Mao released several notable albums including 恋愛中毒 (2010) and セミダブル (2013). In 2018, she announced her retirement from the music industry following her final concert titled "Denda Mao Eternal Voice Tour 2018: Premium Final in Tokyo" on May 2. Her last musical release was the compilation album Eternal Best 2000-2018, released on March 14, 2018.
