Deeikel (Adrián Obregón Mora), a native of Santa Teresa de Cóbano, Puntarenas, Costa Rica, first dabbled in music at age six through the countryâs Sistema Nacional de Educación Musical, learning violin and later teaching himself piano and guitar via online tutorials. In June 2020, under the name âDeeikelââa tribute to his grandmotherâs wished-for nameâhe released his debut single âVainilla,â marking the start of his musical journey despite initial hesitation. His confidence grew after the intimate reception of that release, leading to the breakout 2021 single âRezas,â co-written casually with close friend Siho Villalobos during a house chore session. The track, which featured a festive music video directed by Cesc Mora, rapidly climbed to Number â¯1 on Costa Ricaâs playlists and sparked a vibrant dance trend. That year also saw follow-up releases âSin Censuraâ and âMala Suerte,â reinforcing his reputation as a compelling voice in romantic urbano. In late 2022 he tapped into the broader Latin market with the remix of âCacique,â joining forces with Symon Dice, Rafa Pabön, and Konshens. Over the next few years, Deeikel showcased his stylistic diversity in singles like âVeranilloâ (2023), âDancehall Nightâ (2023), âMerca,â (2025), âChokeâ (2025) featuring KAVVO, Gimario & Shantty, âGuaroâ (2025), and "SANTA TERE" (2025) amassing over 125,000 monthly listeners and securing his presence on regional radio and livestreams.
