Biography

Death Valley Girls is an American rock band formed in 2013 in Los Angeles. The group currently includes vocalist Bonnie Bloomgarden, guitarist Larry Schemel, bassist Sammy Westervelt, and drummer Rikki Styxx. The band was founded by Bonnie Bloomgarden, Rachel Orosco, Patty Schemel, and Larry Schemel. They released their self-titled debut EP Death Valley Girls in 2013, followed by their first full-length album Street Venom in 2014. In 2016, they released Glow in the Dark, featuring Alana Amram and Jessie Jones. The band later signed with Suicide Squeeze Records, releasing Darkness Rains in 2018 and Under the Spell of Joy in 2020. These albums showcased their mix of garage rock, punk, and psychedelic rock, earning attention for energetic live performances. In 2023, Death Valley Girls released Islands in the Sky. They have performed at notable festivals including Desert Daze and Levitation Festival.
