Daylight Dies, a death/doom metal band from the United States, was formed in 1996 by Barry Gambling and Jesse Haff. Their early work began with The Long Forgotten Demo, recorded after several years of development and released in 1999. With vocalist Guthrie Iddings, they recorded the demo Idle in 2000, which led to interest from Tribunal Records. The lineup expanded with bassist Egan OâRourke, and the band recorded additional material that helped secure a deal with Relapse Records. Their debut album No Reply was released in 2002 and received critical praise for its progressive sound and doom metal influences. Following extensive touring in Europe and North America with bands such as Katatonia and Lacuna Coil, Daylight Dies released Dismantling Devotion in 2006. The band continued to evolve with the release of Lost To The Living in 2008, supported by further touring across North America.
