David Hanselmann, was born on April 6, 1952, in Stuttgart, Germany. He began his musical journey at a young age, performing in clubs frequented by US servicemen and forming his first band, The Mayors, in 1967. His early career included touring with notable acts such as UFO, Country Joe McDonald, Hardin & York, and Colosseum II. His breakthrough came with the release of Stonehenge (1980) and Symbols Of The Seven Sacred Sounds (1981), both conceptual albums co-produced with keyboardist Chris Evans. These works earned him the Grand Prix du Disque at the Montreux Jazz Festival in 1980 for the best concept album. Throughout the 1980s, he released several albums, including Somebody's Watchin' You (1982) and Jeder Will Leben (1984). His song "Go Get The Cup" became a hit during the 1990 FIFA World Cup, reaching number 10 on the German single charts. He also wrote official club anthems for VfB Stuttgart ("Olè VfB") and Hamburger SV ("HSV Forever"). In addition to his solo work, he collaborated with various artists, including Mary Roos, Pur, and The Bee Gees. His notable tours include performances at Rock am Ring in 1990 and appearances on The Voice of Germany in 2013. He released the album "Thank You" with the Spacek-Schölch-Gruppe in 2019.
