Biography

David Berkeley is an American singer and songwriter born as David Berkeley Friedland on 22 September 1976 in New Jersey. He achieved professional recognition after graduating from Harvard University with degrees in literature and philosophy. His recording career began with the debut studio recording The Confluence (2002). He released the studio recording After the Wrecking Ships (2004), which featured the track "Fire Sign" (2004) used in the television program Without a Trace. His discography includes the studio recordings Strange Light (2009), Some Kind of Cure (2011), and Fire in My Head (2013). Berkeley achieved professional recognition for a musical style blending acoustic, indie, and Americana influences and for the book 140 Goats & a Guitar (2011). His recording career includes the studio recordings Cardboard Boat (2015) and Oh Quiet World (2020).
