Dave Sturt, born August 14, 1960 in Middlesbrough, North Yorkshire, England, is a British bassist and record producer. He began his musical career at age 17, playing bass guitar and recording. In 1982, he moved to London and quickly became part of the session scene, working with notable artists such as Michael Kamen, David Gilmour, Andy Newmark, and Earl Slick. Sturt joined Jade Warrior in 1987, appearing as a bassist, composer, and co-producer on three albums. He played with Cipher with Theo Travis in the late 1990s, releasing several albums. Sturt's solo debut album Dreams & Absurdities was released in 2015, featuring guest appearances from Daevid Allen and Steve Hillage. He has toured extensively with Gong since 2009, appearing as a bass player, co-composer, and producer on albums such as I See You (2014) and Rejoice! I'm Dead! (2016).
