Biography

Danuta Rinn was a Polish singer and actress who was born as Danuta Smykla in Kraków, Poland, in 1936. She studied at the State Higher School of Music in Kraków and began a musical career in 1963. Rinn achieved professional recognition performing as a duet with her husband, the singer Bogdan Czyżewski, with whom she recorded the studio albums Całujmy się (1966) and Pamiętaj o mnie (1969). She is famous for the track “Gdzie ci mężczyźni?” (1974), which won the Opole festival award for interpretation. Her discography includes the studio recordings Gdzie ci mężczyźni (1975), Danuta Rinn (1977), and Jeszcze jestem (1998). For her contributions to culture, she was awarded the Silver Cross of Merit (1979) and the Commander's Cross of the Order of Polonia Restituta (2006). She died in 2006.
