Biography

Daniel Prandl, born on November 17, 1979 in Burghausen, Germany, is a jazz musician. Prandl's early exposure to music led him to pursue jazz as a teenager, studying jazz piano at the Mannheim University of Music and Performing Arts from 2002 to 2006 under Joerg Reiter. Prandl's career began with collaborations with Jazzgrooves led by Dirik Schilgen and the Belgian singer Caroll Vanwelden. His own quartet released notable albums such as Fables & Fiction in 2012 and The Hero's Journey in 2015. Prandl has also been a member of Schlag auf Schlag, which produced music for radio and television broadcasts. He notably won a soloist prize at the Rectors' Conference's university competition in Hamburg with the Mannheim University of Music Big Band.
