Dallas Crane, an Australian popârock group formed in Melbourne in 1996, began with members Chris Brodie, Dave Larkin, Pete Satchell and Shan Vanderwert. Their first selfâreleased album Lent (1998) was produced locally and introduced the band to the Melbourne pub circuit. The breakthrough came with the 2000 release of Twenty Four Seven, recorded at Hothouse Studios and produced by Craig Harnath, which spawned the single "Sit on My Knee" that entered high rotation on Tripleâ¯J and peaked at Number 14 on the ARIA Singles Chart in Julyâ¯2005. In Julyâ¯2004 the selfâtitled album Dallas Crane was issued by Albert Music and entered the ARIA Albums Chart top 50; the lead single "Dirty Hearts" also entered the top 50. The 2006 album Factory Girls reached Number 30 on the ARIA Albums Chart, the highest placement for the group, and its single "Curiosity" received a fourâstar rating from Rolling Stone Australia. After a brief hiatus, the band returned in 2012 and released the fifth studio album Scoundrels in Novemberâ¯2015, produced by Wayneâ¯Connolly. Dallas Crane continued touring, including a 2022 appearance supporting KISS at Melbourneâs Rodâ¯Laver Arena.
