Biography
Guinea's Ba Cissoko is a master of the kora, whose possibilities he is constantly exploring. Ba Cissoko recorded his first album in 2003 at the age of thirty-six. Sabolan comes after a long apprenticeship in Guinea and a group experience with Tamalalou. A seventy-date tour followed, taking him as far afield as Japan. In 2007, Ba Cissoko and his namesake band explored the rock dimension of the kora onElectric Griot Land. In a perfect pendulum swing, Séno in 2009 was a return to acoustic, dedicated to his grandmother. Aided by arranger Philippe Eidel, Ba Cissoko shows off his warmth and mastery with Nimissa in January 2012.
