Biography
Cucharada was a Spanish rock group formed in Madrid in 1977, consisting of Manolo Tena, José Manuel DÃez, Antonio Molina RamÃrez, and Jesús Vidal. Initially performing under the name Spoonful, the group participated in the 1978 collective album Rock del Manzanares: Viva el Rollo v.2 with the song âSocial peligrosidadâ, which was also released as a single on June 5, 1978. In September 1978, the band performed at a rock festival in Madrid alongside Leño and Coz. The ensemble released its debut album, El limpiabotas que querÃa ser torero (1979), which was produced by Teddy Bautista and featured collaborations with Hilario Camacho and Moncho Alpuente. Following the 1980 single âQuiero bailar rock and rollâ, the group served as the opening act for Chuck Berry in July 1981 before disbanding later that year. On October 6, 2015, a reunion concert took place under the name Cucharada, though DÃez was the only original member to perform. Between 2019 and 2020, Molina RamÃrez and DÃez performed sporadically in Madrid under the name Spoonful, but the group never reformed.
