Formed in Taipei, Taiwan, by four students enrolled at Taipei Municipal Jianguo High School, Cosmos People began creating its unique blend of rock, pop, and dance music in 2004. Vocalist Lin Chung-Yu, guitar player Chen Kuei-Yen, bass player Fang Kuei-Tang, and drummer Wei Hung-Bo released their self-titled debut album, Cosmos People, in 2009. After releasing a stand-alone single, "War Song," in 2011, the group returned in 2012 with another full-length effort, Earthwalk. Cosmos People began touring internationally in 2013, playing shows in Taiwan, America, Hong Kong, Shanghai, and Singapore. 2014's ã³ã¹ã¢ãã¸ã¼ marked the band's first Japanese release, with the stylistically-diverse 10000 Hours following in 2017. 10000 Hours earned the group a nomination for "Best Band" at the 27th Golden Melody Awards, although Cosmos People lost to Sodagreen. Continuing to capitalize upon the band's international popularity, Cosmos People released another Japanese record, TIME LAPSE, in February 2016. Lin Chung-Yu, Chen Kuei-Yen, and Fang Kuei-Tang all focused on acting projects during the first half of 2017, then reunited as Cosmos People for the release of RIGHT NOW in October 2017. During the remainder of the 2010s, the group focused on a series of standalone singles, with highlights including 2018's "O LA O" and 2019's "Taste of Home."
